meets my "slightly different nerve" pretty much - beautiful balance great flavors - but you have to like wood notes
    • Nose
Sweet, sweet and thick - honey and apricot jam, ripe mango, dates with sawdust old pews, lemon - partly crystalline, sweet flowers, wax, furniture polish

very voluminous and productive - old school - deep and complex, let it stand for a while - and then breathe carefully - pure nectar
    • Taste
sweet and fruity, old spicy peppery oak rolls over the tongue, forming a nice contrast to the intense orange and apricot flavors that unfold from a perfectly balanced sweet and sour note. A touch of old smoke - which could also be oak. Dry old oak, no cellar, no muff - spicy delicious old school. Black tea with bergamot, tingling tobacco full, some leather
    • Finish
long with decreasing fruitiness and long-lasting spiciness - pulsates for a while on the palate until it fades

    With water:

Nose: light sweet thick grapefruit malty nose. Oak and spices come trough .

Pallet: starts with spices, pepper and oak, afterwards the light sweet malty grapefruit returns. Everything very mouth coating.
Finish: starts malty sweet honey, the oak comes trough after some time and disappears as fast as it came. That mouth coating feeling (malt, oak shavings)  stays very long.

A few drops elevates this dram to a higher standard. A solid dram, but the oak/spices part is just to much for me to score it higher.

  5. Calmar scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Molt pleasant and spicy, rather minimalistic, but well balanced, all this would be acceptable for 20 ... 25-year-old whisky, but there's something a dozen more, so there's a feeling of disappointment present.
    • Nose
Calm, moist, raisins, notes of decomposition and hydrogen sulphide, wood, lacquer, a little solvent, rosin.
    • Taste
Thick, sweet, spicy oak, sweet citrus, herbal notes, cream, persimmon.
    • Finish
Spicy, slightly sour, light notes of candied ginger, slightly astringent oak.

A really great whisky for a fair price (about 220 €).
    • Nose
Full body with a tart. Apple and pear are in the foreground, followed by brewer's yeast and malt. The wood is clearly noticeable, but appears to be in balance with the fruit. The whole thing is rounded off by spices, such as cinnamon.
    • Taste
A middleweight with an incredibly great ratio of fruit, acid, sweetness, wood notes and spices. The alcohol content is just right.
    • Finish
The medium-long finish convinces with malted barley, sweetness from the Bourbon barrel, a fine bitterness and a slightly mellow freshness.

  10. bakerman scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Super Glenturret, only the finish is a bit "tame" and that it where it looses a point for me. Still I recommend to try it with a few drops of water
    • Nose
sweet, lemon, grape juice (white), lily, toffee and little wood
    • Taste
sweet, apricot jam, orange marmelade, wood, peppery and spicy
    • Finish
      fruity and medium long
