- Bought a sample at the Wageningen whisky festival for an honest opinion at home.
- I got pre-warned: this is not your daily dram or your average whisky.
Let's see what will happen this afternoon.
The nose starts interesting. first observation: somewhere between Glendronach and Glenallachie single cask bottlings. This means a deep dark and rich sherry nose full of raisins and plums. A few drops of water do not change things.
Peculiar start of the taste. Unbelievable warm mouth feeling. Immediate outburst of warm sherry tones and tickling spicy flavors all over the mouth.
Long and warm finish. But again pretty odd. I do not exactly know whether I like this or not. As such a conservative score of 84 points. I can understand the cardboard notes by WB user Ludel. But I would not call this disgusting. Slightly bitter and dry in the finish.
