Whisky Reviews for Clynelish 1997 ANHA
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.05 points
- Vanilla, mineral, wax. Strong, tart, a hint of smoke, barrel wort at the end. No bad.
- With water it gets even fruitier and creamier.
I really like the profile of this one, not a hint of bitterness and fruit up front.
Definite notes of vanilla, butter, buttercream, Turkish Delight (yellow) and a little warm biscuit.
Quite creamy and sponge cake sort of thing. There is a little lemon and tinned peaches in syrup.
There is also a little honeydew melon and some trademark waxy notes.
Medium on fruit and cream
- Compared wit Clynelish 1997 DoD, Clynelish 1997 ANHA, Clynelish 1997 TWC and Clynelish 1996 SMS. Thanks Marcel!
This was the most fun Clynelish.
Wax, vanilla, nuts and fruity.
Syrup, spices - pepper, fruity and nuts. Honey, vanilla and pine resin.
Medium drying with spices, nougat and a touch of smoke.
- I tried about 10 Clynelish the last two months, two rows of five each. Overall, this was together with a Distillery Only and the 1997 gem from Wemmys one that belonged to the top. A very affordable dram of high quality. Very recommended for Clynelish fans and those into finding out the essence of the distillery.
