Definitely an interesting and unusual whisky.
Charming, wonderful and very pleasant whisky with a very interesting blend of casks! I love these atypical butts.

    • Nose
Sour fermented compote that still retains the remnants of its former bright fruitiness and sweetness, vanilla, apricot pit, prunes, wax paper, furniture varnish, malt, apricot jam with butter applied on a piece of white bread.
      Second nose. Pineapple, dried apricots
At the end, spicy spices, jasmine, star anise (apple seed), cinnamon and vanilla are revealed.
      Saturation: 9/10
    • Taste
Pineapple juice concentrate, again the same apricot jam with butter applied on a piece of white, crispy bread.
Continuation of the fruit story with compote, but there are no sour notes here, it is a standing thick compote that has gained sweetness and depth due to various esters and sugars.
There is an impressive share in the profile, which is typical for Irish whisky - fruit gum and green tea with jasmine.
      Sweetness: 8/10
      Saturation: 10/10
    • Finish
      Dry, lacquered, peppery and spicy.
Wood is almost not felt, light tannins and sourness of green tea are felt.

Fresh on the nose, spicy wood. In the mouth, deep, a vinous nothing. Fluid in texture, very spicy (clove), as it is quite typical of old malts. The light finish evokes marsala. The water makes the nose of fresh to warm (!), Exalts the clove in the mouth, and accentuates the sugar in the final.
    Enthusiasm 3/5

It is very good, I maybe had higher expectations for the age and the price. Wasn't wowed like the glenglassaugh 30, I found it a bit thin and insubstantial.

      Light tobacco

      Fruit nose
    • Taste
