Whisky Reviews for Glenallachie 1995 DR

- Not a typical speysider ... interesting stuff.
Waxy and dried fruits, salted minerals, spices and tobacco.
Powerful and oily. Fruits, especially apple. Pepper and cinnamon. Vanilla, honey and tobacco. Citruses.
Medium length, spicy.
- A very classic whisky, but well done.
A little mineral, slightly waxy, yellow fruits, tart notes and apple.
Well sweet, quite lively, always tart notes and a dominant of fresh apple and yellow fruit, traces of cinnamon. Alcohol well integrated.
Cinnamon, wood, fruit, quite long.
- Bottler`s Notes :
Colour : Shiny white gold.
Nose : Soft tobacco, new leather and stewed fruits.
Palate : Oily, malty and spicy with hints of tobacco and smoke. Cracked pepper and creamy vanilla on the finish.
Conclusion : A complex dram and a very unusual Speysider.
