Rumours say this is un-teaspooned Glenfiddich. In that case this whisky would be a rare example of an independent cask strength Glenfiddich. however in my view the whisky lacks real depth and has a too alcoholic character. But it was never intended to be bottled as a single malt in the first place.
    • Nose
Clean and malty at first. Alcoholic as well. Later on melon, pear and some tropical. But also cardboard.
    • Taste
Unexpectedly waxy. Lot of alcohol influence again. Subtle oakiness. Spicy; pepper and paprika.
    • Finish
      Quite long, dry and winey.

    • Nose
Fresh. Summer meadow, green apple, a touch of marzipan. Some vanilla, lemon, gooseberries and sawdust.
    • Taste
Apple, oat biscuits, some pepper. Light honey. Almonds.

    • Nose
Pear, vanilla, cream caramel, cereals, lemon zest, freshly mown grass, tree sap, oak, yellow fruits
    • Taste
In the mouth the wood comes through spicy, waxy, vanilla, hardly any fruit, but still sweet, tasty.
    • Finish
long finish, again somehow waxy, characterized by oak spiciness

At first I thought this was Dufftown, but now I am
more inclinded to say it is a Glenfiddich. I hear whispers to that effect left
and right. Anyway, this is a very good Speysider, provided you do not drown it.
    Around 115 EUR.
    • Nose
The nose is a little fruit bomb with pineapple, peach,
mango and even a touch of kiwi. A bit smoky from the wood, albeit very soft.
Some woodspice with mostly cinnamon. Nice vanilla, too. Fudge, even, that makes
it a tad creamy. Very pleasant. With water it gets a slightly metallic aroma.
    • Taste
The attack is very spicy and honeysweet, but quickly a
huge dollop of citrus kicks in, giving it a sourish edge. Again the smokiness
from the oak is there, much louder than on the nose. But the palate has lost
the somewhat tropical character of the nose. Diluted it becomes a tad sharp,
      which is not an improvement.
    • Finish
In the long, peppery finish, it is all citrus that
      rings my bell.

The amount of years is wrong. It is a 24 year old whisky. Not 14 years old. It is very good though. The price-quality raid is very good.

It`s the first indie of this distillery I ever saw!

I am not the biggest Glenfiddich-fan,but this one is a real nice one!!

The new `Images` line are casks which were `saved` from the blending

industry. They were never intended to bottle as a single malt whisky.

Positive part is that these whisky are often from famous and legendary

distilleries and are (sometimes) very rare as an independent bottling.
