World class Strathi, the notes sound like nothing surprising, but what he does he almost makes perfect. He goes the perfect line between a lot of dark sweetness and the bitterness.
    • Nose
Pure Aromatik, dream, goes well but what right with 40%;) Pure cocoa pure, old Chesterfieldsessel, old tobacco can, fennel, Earl Gray, black tea, autumn leaves, old mahogany potion, potting soil, then dusty, old library, nutmeg, raisins , Jasmine tea, saffron
    • Taste
Again, the old leather armchairs, fine cocoa, saffron, lavender, cinnamon, stollen, raisin, rosemary, super dark honey, black walnut, has a great sweetness as a contrast to the bitter notes, burnt toast, peanut butter
    • Finish
Will be very dry, barrel bomb, book spine, dark chocolate, some raisins, walnut, long to very long

Once again, this works very well. It radiates age and elegance, but still manages to fascinate with its freshness. It’s a tragedy, that this was bottled at 40%... hmpf, the ‘80s. At 43 or even 50% this might have been an total bomb. Only sealed by metal screw cap, there might have been further oxidization (doubt it though). Of course the current prices for these bottling have no relation to the inherent quality of this juice any longer, but a lot of that going around these days. Sadly.
    • Nose
Subdued, but very noticeable peat smoke, eucalyptus, and dark berries. The nose is heavy, even at this strength. The legs are slow, with some droplets sticking to the glass indefinitely. Sugary freshness, paired with juicy undertones and roasted pork chops.
    • Taste
Cold, fresh arrival. A little tired? No… there are traces of peat smoke again, then oak paste on chocolate. Mildly tannic, with blasts of rose water and Turkish delight. Prunes, oranges (without acidity), and interwoven notes of faint herbal tea.
    • Finish
      Medium-long.Warming, smoky, and toffee.
