Whisky Reviews for Ledaig 2005 C&S

- No whisky for everyone. A young and wild bottling, which is likely to find its fans among lovers of smoke, peat and sea salt. Strong, direct and without a lot of bells and whistles.
Smoke and smoked bacon dominate, especially the latter. No alcoholic note, which is quite surprising for me.
Strong onset on the tongue, probably due to the high alcohol content. Lots of salt, dry smoke and again the smoked bacon.
With a bit of water much calmer and slightly oily. Now comes the smoked bacon even more apparent, but also a slightly sweet note.
Keeping a long story short. The alcohol unfolds its full strength again, the smoke dominates and lingers a bit.
Bright white wine, a few irregular thick legs.
Dry smoke, not overwhelmed, surprisingly little alcoholic, some toffee, ham from the smokehouse also fits.
Peat, smoke, mineral, fresh, even here surprise little alcoholic approach, with water a little more complacent and oily.
A short middle-length.
For a 7yo from the Bourbon Hogshead a really nice bottling.
