That's exactly how The Laddie Ten should have been! This looks almost pale generic. The boys and girls from MoS have chosen a great barrel. This is a young malt, far from real complexity - but for me especially in comparison with the Laddie Ten benchmark for a 10-year-old Bruichladdich. One of the few malts I ordered after the first try. 92/100
    • Nose
Ripe bananas, vanilla, lightly burnt, caramelized sugar. Fragrant, light and incredibly sweet. Ground walnuts rise. The alcohol is not noticeable despite the cask strength of 55.2% in the nose. No smoke and no maritime touch. Wow - the nose is for me benchmark of a 10-year maturation in the ex-Bourbon barrel. With water it is even sweeter!
    • Taste
Normally I only try to incl. 50% without water. But here the alcohol seems so perfectly integrated, I try it without it. A very strong start, a younger Wilder of Islay! But drink without water without problems. Sugared walnuts. The mouth gets wonderfully warm. Black pepper. And there it is, the maritime touch. Salty. In the taste, both sweetness and pepper become stronger for me. Absolutely delicious, even with water.
    • Finish
The finish is dominated by vanilla and caramel. The sweetened walnuts are also back and have some oak cargo. Excellently balanced!

Nose: sweetish, vanilla, yellow fruit, a little "dusty", and a very slight hint of peat.
Mouth: strong, sweet, then very warm, pepper
Departure: slight bitterness from the wood, some sweetness, some fruit, slightly sour, the tart notes remain behind. Very nice bourbon whisky.

Last time I tasted it was in 2015. As good as I remembered. A very good Laddie. Fruity, tasty and easy drinking.
    • Nose
A bit closed at first but it opens within a few minutes. Malty, creamy and fruity with vanilla, bananas, melons and citrus. More breathing brings hessian and farmy notes.
    • Taste
Strong, thick, oily, fruity and spicy. Yellow fruits, bananas, melons and citrus from the nose. Slightly bitter. With water, more vanilla cream and fruits.
    • Finish
      Long, citrusy, drying.

The nose gives a pretty sweet impression, vanilla, shamallow, green apple and fresh walnut. With the dilution a little wax and praline appear. The attack has yellow fruits and a small hint of coffee and caramel and tannins that bring a little bitterness. The final, medium-long, is a little astringent and slightly caffeinated. Blindly, I would have said that this distillate had crossed a sherry cask at one time or another. A rather greedy and interesting dram.

Surprisingly close to the official Laddie Ten, but
with a bit more balls. Today was the only sunny day of this week, so I am happy
this was the day I tried it. Personally, I do believe 75 EUR for a 10 year old
    whisky is rather much.
    • Nose
The nose is creamy and fresh at the same time. Banana,
lime, buttercups. Honey with some brown sugar. Surprisingly little peat.
Pineapple cubes and cheesecake. Lemon and mandarin with just a hint of the sea,
getting louder all the time. A bit farmy. I am sold already.
    • Taste
Oily and sweet on the palate, but immediately some
salt as well. Nice balance. Spicy and full of flavour. Halfway through a weird,
but not unpleasant, touch of violets shines through. Caramel. A sunny Ileach if
      you get my meaning.
    • Finish
The finish goes back to salt, with a bittersweet and
      spicy death.
