    Really nice on the nose. Reminded me slightly of something Springbanky.

    N: a little alcoholic and pungent; quite restrained. With elegance, squaderna notes of fresh flowers, lemongrass, almond oil, yellow plums, in a rarefied and mineral atmosphere. A very good note of maracuja. Lemon, a lot of lemon; and also a great return for whiskyfacile: candied ginger. Very fragrant, with almost soapy notes ... But without being off-note. Fresh wood. P: the attack has the same polite shyness of the nose, then suddenly loses its head, and bombs of tropical fruit explode, including mango, coconut and asprina maracuja. Still on the side of the sour, on which this single cask is certainly unbalanced, here is lemon, here is citrus peel, even with mineral transudation. Still fresh almonds. We would like to put into words the concept of intense composure, of shouted upbringing, of shameless austerity: but obviously we do not succeed. F: very long and clearly bipartite: the tropical continues its run, up to impact and give way again to more discreet notes (oily dried fruit) and floral. Particular, really: a restrained nose follows a palate that explodes, but without wrapping ... Tomorrow we taste another single cask of Glen Keith, we'll see if it will continue on the intensely tropical territories http://whiskyfacile.com/2014/09/22/glen-keith-21-yo-19912013-adelphi-53/

    Tasting Notes by Adelphi;

    1 of only 228 bottles from cask no. 85170
    An active American oak barrel from this recently re-opened distillery. Lemon lights with a very good bead, indicating good texture. A prickly nose feel to start, soon mellows to present scents of white grapes and Riesling wine – very unusual and quite refreshing. Delicate and shy to start, then buttery lemon drizzle cake. Tasted at full strength it is both soft and mouthfilling, sweet and perfumed: “Love Hearts”, sherbet and slightly spritzich. It needs only a little water, becoming slightly mineralic and bringing a hint of lychees. In the mouth, it remains fresh, a little less sweet but more acidic with a delicate chocolate fondant finish.
