Whisky Reviews for Longmorn 10-year-old

5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 90.00 points

    • Nose
Lots of OBE, shoe polish, menthol, asphalt, a touch of metal, oily peaty and farmy. Fresh green apple, some soap as well, a classic nose of an old OB whisky. Start to be tropical after a while, with rotten melons and papaya.
    • Taste
Rich and farmy, almond milk, old-style peat, coke, camphor, a touch of melons, and cucumber. Very mellow and a typical old-style OB bottle.
    • Finish
Medium length, peat and bonfire smoke, a bit bitter, some BBQ banana.

Nose: Apple blossom, green grapes which have dried slightly, apricots, lime juice and peel, sweet malt and the distillate which comes through. Fresh with a soft dusty book note in the background.
Palate: Texture has a medium thin texture, white peppery spice, grapefruit peel, green pears and sultana's and yellow fruits wrapped in a layer of honey.
For the age it really allows you to discover the distillate from this time.

Tasted at the Old & Rare Whisky Show 2021 in the Longmorn Masterclass, (Dram No. 1 of 6)

Nose: Very old smelling aromas with sour lemon and lime. Yoghurt, sour cream, wax, leather, paper, green gooseberries and rhubarb - without any hue. Old, dull, metallic and green-sour.
Taste: Rather of a thin structure in the first second, but nevertheless immediately creamy. Wax, green tea, lime and grapefruit - and perfectly matched. The predominantly green notes are complemented by a pleasant freshness of some mint and lemon balm - maritime, mild, creamy and delicately salty to the finish.
Finish: Medium-long - still creamy-green notes are on the tongue. Grass, parsley, lemon yogurt, cream, cream, butter and tender kohlerauch.
Note: Parallels with the Glenfarclas 105 All Malt can not be denied.
    93 points (nose: 93 / taste: 93 / finish: 92)
