Öufi Whisky is the product of a fruitful collaboration between the Solothurn Öufi Brewery and the distillery Hugo Grogg in Alteru on the Jura-Suedfuss.
The Öufi brewery uses the finest malt to prepare the liquid base from which Hugo Grogg distils the whisky according to all the rules of the art. The balanced climate of the area between Jura and Aare and the long, eleven-year aging in selected oak barrels give the whisky its incomparable, mild and full-bodied aroma.
From 2002, two Marsala Barrels - Marsala is a sweet, heavy wine from Sicily, comparable to Porto or Sherry - filled to 225 liters each. (-> oeufi-bier.ch)
