A gentle, filigree Highland Park - largely without smoke. Well done and now available for about 49.00 € for an acceptable price!
    Color gold

      mild, gentle, lots of honey, sweetness, caramel, fruits, herbs, vanilla;
    • Taste
      very mild start, filigree, fruity (ripe apples), sherry, caramel, creamy honey, vanilla, hardly any oak, no smoke;
    • Finish
      medium-long, soft finish, honey, malt, herbs;

Copper/Tawny. Slightly warm and pungent nose feeling, medium aroma of deep sweet fruitiness and lots of aromatic smoke. Also some wood and spices. Oily mouthfeel. Very spicy palette with lots of nutmeg, floral notes, some honey and wood in the background. Again the aromatic smoke. Medium finish with nutmeg and smoke again. The nose is more intense than the palette but the palette is more interesting (very spicy) than the nose. Virtually no sherry influence. This HP is 50/50 US-oak and EU-oak, so the EU-oak provides spicy woody notes in this case. Completely different from the HP12 (more sherry) and much lighter than the HP18 (a serious class higher).

One of the few good Bottlings in Highland Park's lower-priced NAS range, but I'm not sure that the higher Price is really worth it, compared to their standard 12-year old.

A very good daily dram, lightly peated with honey and vanilla notes, the best in the warriors series. surely not worth the €80 but with the new pricing around €50 its a great deal that you won't regret

Good representative of the "Warrior series". Much better than EINAR and SVEIN. Convinced by its very tasty, mild sweetish character. In the nose and in the taste a lot of honey, caramel, vanilla and subtle oak. Very delicate and well tuned. For then 70 € way too expensive. For just under 50 € a good buy recommendation.

    (Blind tasting)
A very gentle colleague. Fine and elegant he comes along and stays the whole enjoyment like that. A round thing.
    • Nose
Fresh and quite tender he comes therefore. Heather, honey and maybe a hint of smoke. Nice.
    • Taste
Feels very soft in the mouth. Somehow floral, the honey here more clearly. Could still be a light smoke in the background, maybe just some pepper.
    • Finish
Slightly tart, fresh, the floral sounds with.

The finish could have been long lasting. The smoke is well-dosed. The whisky I think was in pretty intense sherry casks, probably First Fill and I suppose that there is also a whisky from a Rumfass contained. As I said, very consistent, Finish as a point deduction and the price could be a bit deeper.

Nice and pleasant half board, something for everyday life and also quite good for beginners. Can you drink well?
    • Nose
Tropical fruits, lemon, pineapple, orange, berries, leather.
    • Taste
Creamy and smoky, vanilla, chocolate, the tropical fruits and the berries also gradually come through.
    • Finish
Slightly short, sweet and smoky finish with popcorn. Too short because actually very pleasant, I would like to have had longer.

Weak dram, no character, light. It is very easy to get away, barely the idea that your whisky is drinking. This is by far the most moderate HP I have drunk. Especially for that money nicely on the shelf of the liquor stand ...
    • Nose
Salty, slightly peat, somewhat spicy, apple
    • Taste
Light, little peat. Somewhat tasteless, flat, watery. Some sweet, honey.
    • Finish
Pretty short, very light peppers, light peat and honey.

    N-
Burnt caramel, mineral rustic marine note with fresh berries and honey
floral smokes. Short on the usual alluring deep puffy sherry, but well
rounded with lightly sweet vanilla and soft spice of clove.

P- Crisp and light, heather honey with breeze of distant ashes. Underlay with poached pear and fresh nutmeg.

F- Medium length. Subtle smokes lingers with restrained spiciness, touch of grounded white pepper. Mouth coating.

      a lot of spice - fruity - perfume - viola - lavender - herbs - pineapple
    • Taste
oily on the palate again the herbal taste and again lavender and perfume
    • Finish

After a very promising nose, I would not know why to drink it. He is not really uncomfortable, but also so completely uninteresting that it simply makes no sense.

    Suspected age: 5 years (NAS)

    Suspected price: 25, - €

Assumed strength: does it have 40% at all?

    Notes from a blind tasting.
    • Nose
Apples and sweat to begin with. After a while, tender smoke and sherry notes and a touch of sour notes complete the nose now, to caramel, vanilla and biscuit notes give a harmonious overall picture and for the first time really the impression of a sherry and bourbon barrel mixture. Warms denser and sherrylastiger, now also buttery.
    • Taste
Thin and weak, feeble he comes. Sugary sweetness mixes with a bit of bitterness, which is barely unpleasant. Clearly metallic notes appear.
    • Finish
Which departure? Seriously, the notes just go quite fast, leaving only a slight amount of room in the mouth.

Good to drink, nothing bothers, but also does not really stand out except the herbal note in the nose.

    blind tasting
    • Nose
Yellow apples, grassy notes, herbs, heather ?, vanilla after a while
    • Taste
Fairly soft and gentle on the nose, sweet, slightly darker than in the nose, red apples, some oak, quince jelly
    • Finish
Oak and malt, downright classic, medium long

    • Taste
Very easy, nothing overly complicated. A lot of honey and it has a very “sweet” form of sweetness and lacks that spicy feeling.
    • Finish
End with a lot of honey and strawberries.

Not really my case, one-dimensional and weak.
    • Nose
Very weak, minimal smoke, a little pepper and malt, but all very light.
    • Taste
Also rather light and weak, vanilla and a hint of coniferous forest, before it gets bitter.
    • Finish
      Short and weak.

Considered, intelligent and undoubtedly regal, this whisky shows not only an inner balance but also an assertive oaky side, combining a generous proportion of both American and highly prized European oak casks.Celebrated through this release, King Harald was famed for his army, which was revered across the world at that time. The most feared of his troops were known as ‘berserkers’. Described as intrepid heroes, they carried bloody shields used for hacking through their enemies. Such was the importance of the shield in growing King Harald’s global influence that it adorns the packaging.Harald requires a certain dedication and loyalty, rewarding followers with a full bodied palate of sumptuous sweetness, spice and focused oak.Tasting Notes by Highland Park

A no-age whisky aged 50% each in European and American oak. The Highland Park Harald is by no means close to the 18-year-old, but shows the direction in an impressive way. Especially the base of sandalwood and ginger have done to me, even if the great complexity is missing - the clear line is there.
    • Nose
lots of raisins, vanilla and fully ripe oranges on the go, subtle hints of smoke, sandalwood moves more and more into focus with time, in the background frothy forest berry cream
    • Taste
light, barely noticeable alcohol, oak spice, a touch of nutmeg, lavender behind and slight sweetness
    • Finish
first some citrus and soft caramel , later clear and short ginger sharpness , dry smoke occupies the whole mouth and remains there, the whole thing is carried by pleasant spice and traces of sandalwood

This could have been a great Highland Park bottled at 46% ABV and un-chillfiltered. The dilution ruins the finish which ruins the overall experience.

    (Rating interval 80-83)
    • Nose
Sweet and sour, peat, menthol, orange juice and star anis. Water brings more of the peat, oak and strawberries and sweet jona gold apples.
    • Taste
Well balanced fruit and peat. Red berries, rasp berries and straw berries. Ammonium chloride (which flavors salt licorice and give a kind of cold metal saltiness on the tongue).
    • Finish
Starts to deliver fine but disappear way too fast.
