Unfortunately, this Teeling is quite alcoholic and a certain heat is on fire. But I also had worse. Otherwise this is an unusual whiskey. The nose is actually to get used to, the taste is better, but not really good, but the memory is good. Okay for the price, but I would not buy a bottle of it anyway. Even this bottling can not change my opinion on ex rum aged whiskey. Just does not fit.
    • Nose
very sprightly, a lot of alcohol, sour, green notes, slightly bitter and lemony
    • Taste
Here, the alcohol is more restrained, but still quite strong, then sweetness, but also a subliminal acidity, here comes the rum, but also a green note
    • Finish
the green notes lead over the acidity to strong tannins of young oak, in between but also again and again the sweetness

    Not a very pleasant position

Here the grain whiskey dominates, which in itself would be quite appealing. If there are any pot still or malt parts at all, these are eliminated by the rum casks and the result is a steel-hard Irish whiskey. Suitable for lovers of firewater or "exp and hop" whiskey. He doesn't give me pleasure.
    • Nose
Moist cardboard, caramel, light nuances of rum, raisins, a hint of cinnamon and vanilla, alcoholic grainy, puuuhhhh... the grain is already burning in the nose
    • Taste
Caramel, spicy, rum raisins, nutmeg, cinnamon, a certain spiritedness takes over, cardboard packaging
    • Finish
In short, producing an alcoholic glow, caramel, slightly sparkling, there's also some oak (?), some effervescent aftertaste and that's it

Spicy, alcoholic. Unfortunately ended up in the drain.

I have tried several rum inspired whiskies: The Balvenie 14, Glenfiddich fire&cane and the Tulamore Dew XO.
I can safely say that including the price to value ratio this is the best out of all of them followed by the Tullamore. The Balvenie is insanely expensive for what it is and the Fire &Cane has a distant soapy taste. I would recommend this Teeling for anyone for the 25-30 Euroes it costs. Amazing!

Very flat, thin and with no longer note. I've expected more butterscotch notes but i was disappointed.

Very disappointing. Fortunately, I only have a taste. Thin with a strong alcohol touch Initially. Gradually calms down, and turns into burnt sugar, malt and spices in the background.

  17. Bishlouk scored this whisky 79 points Connoisseur

Personally, I have a little trouble with the young grain whiskey in general. It seems to me the majority here, making this whiskey quickly disgusting. As for the imprint of the rum, I did not detect it. I find the nose nice, but the rest does not correspond at all to my tastes.
    • Nose
The grain whiskey is immediately noticeable, because of its very particular (and quite difficult to define) smell of slightly sweet and sweet fruit. Behind that, white grapes, apples and a little herbaceous freshness.
    • Taste
From the acid apple. Grain whiskey is here also very present, bringing a roundness to the whole and a marked liquoreux side. A bitterness of dry fruit grows in the mouth.
    • Finish
Average. A bit of dry bitter dry apricot that persists.

  18. markjedi1 scored this whisky 81 points Connoisseur

Great blend with a nice rum
twist. Between 25 and 30 EUR.
    • Nose
      The rum finish immediately offers
a spicy nose with loads of fruit. Berries, cherries, oranges and some apple
cake. In the spice department, I am reminded of cloves mixed with a huge dollop
      of vanilla. Wonderfully sweet.
    • Taste
It is full on the palate. Creamy
almost. Again very fruity and spicy – more than on the nose. Allspice and
cinnamon join the vanilla. The fruit translates into more yellow and orange
variants like peach and oranges, but also apricots.
    • Finish
      The surprisingly long finish
lingers and shows a trace of woodsmoke.

  19. Ivynor scored this whisky 80 points Expert Senior

An interesting nose, but here I am not. A little too young, but good idea to have left at 46%.
    • Nose
Rum! vanilla, wood, lots of caramel, sugar cane still green. It is a fairly agricultural style (aged nevertheless in barrel of traditional rum Flor de Cana, in Nicaragua)
    • Taste
Sweet enough, a little dry, on vanilla, wood. Always the young agricultural rum style, a little green. Palate a little pasty.
    • Finish
Dry, bitter, young, no aroma ...

  20. ASWhisky scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
UHU, very fresh wood and batter, a bit of nutmeg and artificial sweetness and then soft-boiled applesauce pretty dominant but delicious
    • Taste
      pleasant to drink, sweet glue,
The nose is repeated in the mouth and finish .. very conclusive

I can confirm the notes of Noface!

  21. Noface83 scored this whisky 81 points Specialist

    Super PLV
    • Nose

    • Taste
Spiced, rich palate with rose petal jelly and
lemon curd. Creamy vanilla, hints of dried herbs and cinnamon.
    • Finish
