Whisky Reviews for Old Pulteney 1998 GM

- Corrected rating from 87 to 88.
Fairly discreet, light, clean, fresh. Well malted and harmoniously vanilla. A discreet, elegant vanilla. A fruity touch and a little confectionery in the background. Vegetable notes like moss and a little hay with smoke just evoked. Delicate!
The mouth is a little more lively and nervous. Almost broken, but the balance settles on the development and the finish. Aromatic notes come to the fore in the attack. It reveals laurel and clove as well as white pepper. A small fruity flash takes over and the malt develops all its cereality (?) In balance with the return of spices initially detected.
Controlled bitterness, aromatic spices. Rear taste a little austere but far from unpleasant. Beautiful length
- A very good whisky from this distillery.
Gourmand, apple, peach and mirabelle coated with mineral touches, vanilla, honey, acidulous candy.
With water: more iodized
Basket of candied fruits, then a lot of pepper, a hint of oak, a hint of iodine.
With water: rounder
Long enough, more bitter on peppermint, a little wood.
