The nose held fruity sweetness and floral perfumes –
vanilla, rose, Turkish Delight, toffee, fudge, mango, lychee, pineapple, orange
jelly babies, almond croissants and peppermint creams. That clean heat of mint
imperials, Murray Mints, toothpaste and Fisherman’s Friends asserted itself on
the palate – plus red berries, bramble jelly, orange curd and peaches.
Additional aromas with water included sugar-dusted sweets and Danish pastries
in a cardboard box, linen, lemon and lime, honey and marmalade on toast. The
reduced palate was fruitier and sweeter – juicy apples, pears, raspberries,
redcurrants and melba toast, with black pepper and coriander tingles. The
distillery associated with sixteen men.
