Whisky Reviews for Millburn 1966 GM

- Also my favourite amongst the pinerolo and uk version, toffee chocolate Christmas cake and spices, orange, leather, burnt sugar with some great obe, excellent
- Really a completely different style compared to nowadays whisky's. Soft and smooth but very creamy and thick, with subtle tastes.
Maybe not the upperbest or -tasteful whisky, but a great experience to drink this.
Fruity, raisins. Some leather-like, and sone tobacco. Also a bit mossy, and nuts.
Also the smell of an Underground-station or -tunnel. Also some chocolate.
Very very smooth, a sour note underneath a sweet taste of caramel and milk chocolate. Very creamy and thick mouthfeel. Also some coffee and nuts.
Now a little tingling in the throat. A bit tobacco-like, caramel, some coffee. Middle long.
Later on it's getting longer, more tobacco.
- Very old style sherry wood - really nice!
Head to head with the Pinerolo and the UK bottling I would say this one is the best of the three - a bit fresher and more fruity.
But for whatever reason the miniature of the Millburn 1966 with the map label is still by far the best - I think there is no regular bottle size available of this stuff.
Anyhow all are really excellent!
Intense tobacco notes, cigars, toffee, milk coffee, old books, sherry wood, old furniture, hints of nutmeg and cinnamon, little bit of cooked oranges, jam - very good!
Very, very creamy, sirupy, subtle sweetness, more cooked oranges, jam, milk chocolate, wet tobacco, more old books, spices, pepper, fine sherry wood - great!
Medium long, warm, fruity and smooth
- This is quite a nice one!
Caramel, sherry, muscovado sugar, raisins, tawny
port, orange peel, spicy, slightly smoky
Smoke, sweet licorice, muscovado sugar, caramel, sherry
Cigar boxes, dry, muscovado sugar, wood spices, caramel
- These old brown label G&M bottles from the past are always very special.
Fragrant. Dusty, beeswax and old furniture. Nutty. Notes of sherry. This nose is familiar compared with other old whisky's.
Gentle and delicate sweetness. Black fruit intermingled with honey. Some smoke and mint. Complex.
Medium long, lingering sweetness.
