      leave golden
Gentle with something prizzling in the nose
Shortbread, grape, pear? Or is it ripe apple?
A bit of lemon in the back, very pleasing nose
    • Taste
      84 84
Gentle yet powerful, the guy fills the palate
Ripe grapes and now light banana flavors, some butterscotch / shortbread,
light vanilla and a hint of metallic at the back
    • Finish
      85 85
Medium long finish and very present for its percentage

      Beautiful drops for carefree enjoyment

Solid malt, no excitement, no mistakes. PLV great. Surprisingly unfruitful. Can you buy if you need something straightforward, that everything tastes good.
    • Nose
Malty and compact on the nose, sweet and some yoghurt. Young, but not unpleasant.
    • Taste
Robust in the mouth, slightly alcoholic, malty, slightly oak.
    • Finish
Finish. Dry, dry, slightly fresh wood, little fruit, some cocoa

It looks like a blend, but not so great!
few scents, spices on the nose and mixed fruits without real character!
on the palate, it's bland and flat, limited like a glenmorrangie 5 years old ... but spices hide everything, typical of basic blends!
    short final, just a disappointment!

[Pronounced] Tulli-Bardin is a really fascinating distillery, one that produces just 150.000 litres a year. That's peanuts in comparison to nearby giants such as Blair Athol [3,000,000 litres]. The distillery itself is, shall we say ‘battle worn’ - and I really like it for that. The warehouse is secured by a large heavy door and a gate inscribed with the message ‘Weesht John and Angels at work’. And then there's the dunnage warehouse area in a double apex building with no support in the middle! Distressed concrete means it holds itself up, making for a dramtic, moody and memorable atmosphere inside - cracking!!
N & T: Easy one this - smells and tastes like new-make spirit, so uber-young. So that's a neutral spirit on light cereal and even lighter fruits.
C:  Exactly what you'd be asked to produce for blends - good, neutral spirit I'd imagine. Nothing else to say. Let's try the Burgandy finished NAS Tullibardin[e] WB

Nice malty, that's about it. The rest is flat but has spice, is probably a bit older.

As part of a blind tasting tasted
    • Nose
very light alcohol and solvents, seasoning, a little vanilla and toffee, fresh mint
    • Taste
a little alcohol, seasoning, vanilla, creamy toffee, malt, bitter, a bit too long drawn black tea
    • Finish
some malt, then seasoning - from the barrel?

Unmemorable - life is too short!! 72 pts - one of my lowest scores
