  1. wisekycourse scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

30 years of neutral distillate which gives the barrel (the barrels?) the opportunity to give its full intensity.
    • Nose
      caramel, sweet apple, honey,
fairly fresh and / or young wood
sweetness on the nose, malt, nuts and the leather that gets there, a little varnished, just a little
      chocolate, butter, lots of butter!
the sherry with soggy dried fruit finally arrives
    • Taste
intense spices that heat up the palate, then more peppery
intense sherry with dried white grapes, tangerine and its zest, a little apple and cooked pears, a little bitterness there
slightly floral, grassy with cooked vegetables, even earthy, mold then appears
      slightly toasted wood.
sweetness is essential, with juice of candied fruit syrup, vanilla and melted liquid honey, which drips on the spoon
    • Finish
quite long, same scents with vanilla, spicy return, but especially sweet sherry with little candied fruit, and candied and macerated fruit on apple and pear, on a fairly dry sherry
the wood looks young, little surprising mold.

  2. Lorion scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

Astonishingly balanced and pleasant, there are no false notes. Unfortunately something is missing the dark, heavy sherry cargo, which I feel a little bit at the end. So it is "only" 92 points, because I'm in the big picture then very impressed and excited. The nose is at a solid 90, the palate raises it by its 94 to a total of 92.
    • Nose
Sweet, red apple - accompanied by a vinous note. Oak is also there and gives a pleasant spice. Baked apple with cinnamon and sugar! Chocolate and cranberry are added. Nothing is too dominant, fruit, sweetness and oak hold themselves wonderfully the balance. Something mint sounds, in fact, the whisky is not so heavy, but quite fresh. Some leather makes but attention and also boot wax with some soap is to be guessed. Interesting combination. Over time, the spice shifts slightly before the other flavors, just so that they do not disappear. But that does not stay that way for long, then honey and apple regain their spice. Everything in the nose is extremely round, pleasant and extremely well balanced. After more than an hour, raisins are added.
    • Taste
First juicy sweet, then the seasoning comes to it. What the nose promises, the palate holds! Leather is already there, 50% are not to be felt in the approach, apart from the intensity of the aromas once off. By swallowing, a gushing whistling aroma comes to the fore and also the apple comes through for the first time on the palate. The tobacco spice holds in the mouth, surprisingly, no bitterness is felt. With each sip it gets juicier and sweeter!
    • Finish
The taste in the mouth stays long (especially the mixture of tobacco and apple), the revenge warms only briefly.

On the nose, salty side, quite fresh leather, lemon peat, peppery spices and an intense woody return!
leather, softwood, sherry, mildew, some smoke.
