Oh, after the very mixed reviews, he has surprised me rather positive, yes, one must not disregard the 2y, which are at least proudly stated here, so it should be more often. For that he really likes to be and is also quite round for it with 2, 3 own notes!
    • Nose
Interesting nose, which quickly reveals the high Rye content, one has the rye, a light minerality with citrus vanilla sweets, Manuka honey, some mint and anise, some Esthernoten and dried apricot in the background
    • Taste
Fresh vanilla spreads in the mouth, quite strong, the alcohol is noticeable a little at a young age, but not as much as you think. previously thought the apricot is back, now together with the honey and vanilla like a delicious milk drop, the rye behind it beautiful spicy corners, mint, anise, some mineral and citrusy get later in the course, honeydew melon, really good for 2Y, like
    • Finish
Of course, quite short at the age, but nice honey, rye and apricot with kernel stay, some hay and young oak as well

nothing special, the taste leans toward the spicy sour side. although i tasted this after the WL Weller 12, so i guess the contest was pretty much over by then

  3. holborndrinker did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

A small batch high-rye bourbon produced in Colorado. The mash bill for Breckenridge contains 56% yellow corn, 38% green rye and 6% unmalted barley, and it's aged for 2 to 3 years in American white oak 53 gallon barrels.

    A good young Bourbon!
    • Nose
Corn, burned sugar, marzipan and some oak
    • Taste
Citrus, minerals, soft spices, thin body that evolves to a peppery firework
    • Finish
      Fairly long with citrus lingers

  7. MaltMartin scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

A new kid on the block from Colorado. Amazingly creamy for its 2 years. Should be more comples after 4 to 6 years.
    • Nose
Astringent young nose. Lots of citrus fruit intermingled with corn sweetness. Hints of vanilla and marzipan, Pine. Some soap.
    • Taste
Quite creamy. Polished furniture. Sappy oak. Hoeny. Raspberries. Apple juice.
    • Finish
Medium long. Cayenne pepper. Ginger. Liquorice. Cinnamon.
