  1. Ostap scored this whisky 85 points Expert Senior

Quality, nice whisky, quite characteristic. It has a lot of potential, so it is clear why it is loved by shopkeepers and whisky connoisseurs.
    • Nose
      86 86
Delicious, honey, noticeably thick aroma, sweet berry, sour, pepper, a little oak, fruit marmalade, mineral spice, sour malt, sea salt, dried apricot, cut in half cucumber, lots of wax, a little tropical fruit, canned apples and canned apples. With warming banana, dried apricots, raisins, paradise apple, fragrant flowers, coffee three in one, vanilla.
    • Taste
      86 86
Powerful pepper, honey, many spices, juicy sweet, raisins, dried fruits.
    • Finish
      84 84
Pepper, with spices, dry to the crunch, long, even burning, a hint of juicy fruit. Not very much mine - too much dryness and burning in the receptors.

  2. WhiskyFan2112 scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Wax, minerals, citrus, honey, some oak influence but pleasant without bitterness.

I love the nose!  It’s enough to make up for the weak finish.  The palate is very complex, and makes for a very intriguing tasting experience.  It’s worth the price.  A very good value in the $50 price range.  With a better finish, this could be a 90.
    • Nose
One of the best noses of any Scotch whisky.  Easter candy-coated marshmallow eggs, fruit punch (cherry, apple, pineapple, orange, grape), almond paste, clover honey, and some candle wax.  A few drops of water bring out some lemon/lime notes as well.
    • Taste
Fruit and slight floral, crushed roasted almonds, sea salt, spiced malt, oak wood, perhaps a bit of citrus and a touch of ginger.  Perhaps a bit of leather/tobacco, but only a hint.
    • Finish
Very short and unremarkable.  Thin.  Maybe a hint of smoke, but nothing that lasts.
