Whisky Reviews for Strathisla 1999 GM
7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.59 points
- Simple enough and young Molot, definitely bourbon barrels, a lot of moonshine and yeast notes, grass, but Stratyla is very attractive to me, there is some zest in it, even in regular 12, and in this young whisky, seemingly unremarkable , but leaves a pleasant impression.
Open, dry, young, wood-moonshine, yeast, yeast dough, freshly baked bread, a little lemon zest, a little dried mown grass. wood dust.
Sufficiently dense, yeast, dough, nuts, moonshine, grain.
Herbal, sour bread, dough, nuts, orange peel, over time appear notes of mint, resin and solvent.
- Relatively bright color, looks much younger. Smells very fruity, grapes, oak. Tasty very pleasant, strong, a little bit sprightly. Now almost smells banana, but the taste is really great, if you want a purebred whisky. Departure not too long, but really good. Great whisky for a change!
- N: Speyside, yep - sweet, waxy grain nose
T: Spirit led - mildly-harsh, tangy distillate
C: Despite my facetious looking notes, its not so bad.
