Really tasty in the mouth, otherwise you must have a soft spot for sour things.
    • Nose

After the usual gush of glue from exBC, minerals and honey balance each other out, in between light fruits gradually unfold, which, however, have a hard time saying more than just "fruit".
Water doesn't really help much, there are still freshly broken shrub branches in addition to the mineral ones.
    • Taste
      88 88
It looks fruitier in the mouth than on the nose, with a Glen Elginesque undertone floating along: no smoke, but this elegant fruity spice reminds me of it. Definitely also delicious: the lemon oiliness
With water, it then becomes more mineral and astringent.
    • Finish
      86 86
Harmonious, but it goes relatively into the tannins and then remains quite acidic. Extremely refreshing, but clearly sour.

    • Nose

Oranges, cinnamon, strong fruity, (those dusted with sugar) candied gummy bears, apricot jam
    • Taste
      85 85
slightly sweet, slightly acidic, sparkling, more pleasant with water
    • Finish
      84 84
Malt, quite strong acidity in the aftertaste

    Notes from a blind tasting.

Quite simply kept, nevertheless pleasing and pleasant to enjoy (if you have added water).
Without water, however, it's too rough and coarse for my taste - at least in the mouth.
    • Nose
      85 85
Vanilla, butter biscuits, honey, a bit of cardboard, apples, fresh citrus, mineral notes, some dry oak in the background. The alcohol is clearly noticeable, tickles the nose a bit, but is still in the pleasant range. A slight mustiness over everything?
Overall, it comes across with a typical ex-Bourbon nose.
    • Taste
      83 83
Without water: Pretty easy. Malt sweetness, vanilla, light fruit. This is very quickly superimposed by a strong tingling sensation on the tongue.
With water: Much more pleasing, but nothing new added. At least sweetness, fruit and vanilla can be tasted more clearly and longer.
    • Finish
      83 83
Dry and astringent without water, this outweighs the almost imperceptible sweet and fruity notes. Water also smoothes here and creates a medium-length harmonious finish.

  7. Totoro scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
      85 85
Orchard fruits, green banana, and cinnamon pastry. A bit punchy.
    • Taste
      87 87
On the nose, the strength was a negative; on the palate it‘s an asset, helping to push things forward. Very pretty oak spice showing here. Vanilla, lemon cake, and icing sugar.
    • Finish
      84 84
Rather swift, with a sour/spicy character.
