One of my first Littlemill ever. I had my own bottle of it when it came out. Eventually it fell off the shelf. I still haven't gotten over the trauma . It's good that I could try it again for a review. That sure helps getting over it. ;-)
I know why I mourned the loss of this bottle so much back then. Or the approx. 15cl that the accident cost. Thank you dear whisky god that I was allowed to do this fantastic stuff again! As a side note: “back then” I gave this whisky 92 points. It's relatively easy to attribute the difference to increased experience. Exciting to see that in an example.

Somewhere between a high meadow and an orchard, someone is brewing lemonade in a wooden barrel.

A beautiful texture accompanies aromas between fruits, from the peel to the pulp to the pits. In between salt and a choux pastry. A mild herbal schnapps or a wild pomace brandy.

A fantastically fruity finish. Exotic fruits, a blend of everything you might find in the South Seas, washed down with a little ginger stock. Plus a sweet wine. Sometimes you also have the feeling that someone has dissolved a pack of Haribo Tropi Frutti in schnapps.

Littlemill 21 yo 1992/2013 (55.6%, Single Cask Collection, cask #20, 318 bottles) Four stars and a half Ha ha, after cask #10, let's have cask #20. Colour: straw. Nose: look, no disrespect meant to this other superb Littlemill but it's quite the same as above, so long story short, it's a great nose. Mouth: slightly different now, we have rather less wormwood and other herbs, while the candied citrus fruits got comparatively a little louder. It's also a notch thicker and creamier, but that could be the extra 0.7%. Just kidding. Finish: long, a notch more on straw wine than on Sauternes but hey, I may well be trying to be smart. Comments: Seriously, it's another superb Littlemill. To think that the distillery, one of the oldest in Scotland (1772!) got closed less than two years later... (sob!). SGP:641 - 89 points.
