Whisky Reviews for Tormore 1984 DD

- Lovely Tormore,
around 165 EUR.
The nose is creamy
and sharp at the same time. Resin? Citrus in the lead (think mandarin and bergamot),
but also Jonagold apples and a hint of gooseberries. There is something in
there that reminds me of nail polish remover (and, no, my wife is not just
taking care of her toes). Hints of pepper, touch of vanilla and loads of oak. Water
gives it a more mineral character.
Sturdy attack, very
spicy. The oak is loud, but he can bear it. The fruit returns, citrus remains
the loudest. Prickly. Honey. Ginger. Pepper. Liquorice. Diluting does not
really make any big changes, although it does become a little dry.
The finish is long
and spicy with a surprising salty finale.
