Great for beginners. If you are looking for an inexpensive single malt with bourbon barrel maturation to familiarize yourself with the matter, you will not go wrong with the Bradan Orach. Unfortunately, he will not be able to offer anything new to anyone who already has a little experience with single malt whiskys.
    • Nose
Fresh green apples come towards me. There is also some malt and caramel, as well as a sweet note of honey. A little further behind are citrus fruits. I also initially have an association of plastic and other wrong notes. Fortunately, these impressions disappear again after a while.
    • Taste
In the mouth it is very soft and you can find the green apples immediately. The malt is felt a little more in the mouth than in the nose. There are also notes of caramel candy and toffee.
    • Finish
The malt also remains on the sweet side in the finish and brings a touch of spice with it. Unfortunately, the finish is relatively short.

almost undrinkable - just alcohol. Thin in taste.
this whisky was bottled much too early - completely immature

Immature, metallic, unpleasant Whisky. For me it is barely drinkable. Better to avoid it!
Luckily I had only a sample, otherwise I had no idea where to dump the rest of the bottle.

Very disappointing whisky. The nose is interesting with vibrant fruit and pineapple but unfortunately the interest of this whisky lies solely in the nose. The main detectable tasting note is cardboard. Granted this is smooth, but smooth what? It doesn't taste of anything. And the finish is non existent. The packaging was attractive but sadly it is this whisky's strongest feature. Not a whisky or even a distillery which I will purchase again.

did not expect much, and so it was. A nice dram that you can comfortably drink alongside.
    • Nose
neat malt and the sweetness to it, young, green, grass, slightly lemon, later something like cheese?
    • Taste
sparkling and unripe on the palate Malt, green, banana, apple, biscuits
    • Finish
      medium long, slightly dry, malt

Drinkable for the price segment, but no whisky I would buy.

Young immature stuff, a metallic harshness (think warm copper paste), cheap musk notes along with the typical youthful unpeated malt whisky notes as in fermenting cider apples and unripe pears.

Quite hot and pungent on the palate, a thin body with off-notes like cardboard and saw dust, a metallic musky-ness, sour tannins in the finish.

There's nothing worse concerning whisky than a bad malt whisky.

    Prime example for a duffer.

*edit: had to up my score a few points because I remembered 'Old Dublin', which has distinctly less flavours but way more harshness, and the 'van Wees Clynelish' which is a lot worse.

A good whisky for a good price.
    • Nose
Fruity tones: green apples, honey, lemon, flowers and vanilla.
    • Taste
Balanced, fruity again , vanilla, flowery like blossom, nice.
    • Finish
Long and soft. Not so complex. But nice. It comes all together.

Tasted it blind.  I could swear this was a Campbeltown whisky.  It's very grainy, big on citrus and some minerals pop up out of the blue.  Not really my thing but if I could get it for, let's say, 15 - 20 € I wouldn't hesitate that much I think.

  12. Jaydee scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

Not the most spectacular but still a decent, all day whisky for an attractive price. Fresh, sweet and fruity taste, vanilla, spices, oak. Spicy finish, medium length. Left in the glass for some time improves the taste.

Come on! If you think it's that bad, at least let us know why.

It's not a mesmerising wonder of druids gold, but it's a decent whisky.

Add the price to the equation and it becomes a great whisky.

I won't be insulted if offered this, even if I know there's better stuff in the back of the cupboard.
