Whisky Reviews for Glen Grant 1982 TCO

Color: quite light for a sherry cask

Nose: He has gotten a lot of wood, then comes the typical Glen Grant sweetness with vanilla, artificial honey, after a while the sugary sweetness passes and behind it come a few fruits, dominate sour cherries. But before I could discover more, the dusty roof beams fell over me.

Mouth: Here he shows a harsh start, even with a little water, the alcohol is very peppery. Now less sweetness, slight sherry hints, wood, dust, muff.

Finish: Very bitter, first dark men's chocolate, then the good old grapefruit, dry.

Conclusion: Alt is not always good, here the whisky got too much wood for my taste. The creamy Glen Grant sweetness is superimposed and dominated by the bitter notes. The alcohol is also harsh and bizzeln until the finish.

Am I not ready for the old whiskys or the daily form? Only 82 points today

Real excitement does not want to come up with this whisky, in addition it looks somewhat immature and slightly alcoholic sharp. The aromas are too one-dimensional. This whisky can not convince me. blind tasting I was not surprised when it was revealed to me what kind of whisky this is. I thought he was a young whisky from the bourbon barrel! When tasting again, the whisky tastes a bit darker. Does the psyche play a trick? But I still do not find him good.
    • Nose
green apple, pepper, apple tea, brandy vinegar, later red apple, woodruff
    • Taste
medium on the palate, hot on the tongue, orange, some lemon, more tart than sour, again apple, weaker this time, a hint of lemon balm, little oak
    • Finish
some malt, the memory of the fruits of the mouth and nose, a touch of bitterness, medium length
