Tasted in parallel with batch 4. It is sweeter and less on honey. But still very successful and balanced.

Superb nose with a very integrated exotic fruit.
      Passion, papaya, guava, lemon.
      Potpourri, lilac. Wax.
      Vanilla, white pepper.

In the mouth we stay on a mix of fruit and flowers.
Lilac, orange blossom. Apple, pear, elderflower.
Black and white pepper. Wooded. Honey, sugar syrup.

      89 89
Final on the potpourri, the white fruit. The pepper.

Nose: Quite spicy with distinct roasted aromas at the beginning. Then forest honey, wood polish, caramel and raisins, ripe citrus notes and intense mineral, slightly churned and out of round. Needs time, then he shows a very beautiful old-styled tone, noble sherry and always harmonious.

Mouth: Again spicy, hot, almost aggressive, but of very high quality. Well integrated honey sweetness, ripe oranges, apricots, dry sherry. Again, subtle roasted aromas, large expansion, wave-like on the palate and on the tongue. The alcohol carries, but is not too high.

Finish: Long, dry, astringent, clear wood, old-style sherry and peppery.

Conclusion: An enormous powerhouse, especially for a Balvenie! On the whole he was a bit too dry, but showed a nice complexity and a wonderful old-style tone!

Very squeezed flavor, taste / finish much more open, juicy and rich, very pleasant and deep sherry whisky.
    • Nose
Closed, wet, the first nose - furniture lacquer and rowan jam; spicy wood, earthy notes, prunes, furniture lacquer.
    • Taste
Rich, dense, oak, prune, pu er, earthy notes, sweet pastry tones, dark beer, caramel, burnt rusks, coffee, raisins, furniture lacquer.
    • Finish
Light, continuation of taste, oak, prunes, beer notes, a little orange peel, candied ginger, licorice, in the development of a lot of furniture varnish, spicy herbs.

The finish is definitely the weakest, but otherwise it is a very nice easy-drinking whisky, you can always pour and especially the entrance is nice.
    • Nose
Old school, beautiful apple / malt bomb first in the nose, a little alcohol but in the frame, pear is also to light honey pleasant, touch of sea air, a little candle wax, some green tea and instead of red now green apple, a little lemon
    • Taste
Beautiful fruity onset, lots of apple, red, sweet, slightly candied apple, lots of honey sweetness, nice full in the mouth, citrus notes also, lemon ice cream, a hint of salt as well, in the background a touch of dry bread or autumn leaves, a little bit of malt, lavender little and the green tea at the back, but without the dryness, rather sour, stinging nettle, with more sips salt is getting even more of the acid just
    • Finish
Not so long unfortunately, some apple peel, lemon peel, light malt and Brenesseltee

Yomyoma ... pretty tasty. Is he worth the price? Unfortunately, no.
    • Nose
Jau, that the mister comes from Balvenie you realize. This typical, soft Cirtus and Vanilla Armoen emanating is immediately there. Then I have something like fermented, dark apples. Add a little pepper. Too complex for my nose, but saulecker.
    • Taste
The whole thing starts off slightly creamy and oily. The alcohol is noticeable, but not too intrusive. Then come dark spices like pepper and nutmeg. Now comes the sherry.
    • Finish
The finish has a helping of cinnamon and sugar. But the master pastry chef filled in a bit of pepper. Pretty tasty and long. Everything very filigree and round. Again the old apple

An excellent dram which I expected when trying it seeing all the high scoring. Give this dram some seconds to develop in the glass as it tickles in the nose when you put in for the first time. Well done and I am happy that I got a bottle for around 350€ that I was able to share!
    • Nose
Rich and oily I read in a comment! Yes true and fruity and complex! I have juicy apricots and oranges, lime, leather but also dry sherry and pepper. I could smell it for hours and it really makes fun!
    • Taste
Very well balanced dram where I have first the juicy oranges and apricots again. Some coconut as well as pepper and the dry sherry again!
    • Finish
Incredibly nice and smooth finish of leather and tobacco. Great!

One of the most valueble whiskies I've tasted with a lovely sweetness and rich oiliness structure. You will direclty find the deep structure of the older whiskies Balvenie use to combine this affect for the Tun Bin series.
