Nose: straightforward with little fruit, but with plenty of dry leather, marzipan, delicate chocolate, peppercorns, fine herbs, floral aromas and hay. Filigree apple flavors and vanilla ice cream - kept fresh overall.
Taste: Powerful, peppery and salty chocolate. Sweet peat, honey, an impulsive spice and fruit notes of ripe apples. Smoky and slightly "gloomy" underlaid. Towards the end again rather fresh, floral, slightly tart and tainted with vanilla.
Finish: Very long - with tart notes of the taste, only slightly flattened as before. Leather, herbs, honey, cold smoke, dry peat, some wood and pickled herbs.
Remark: This malt is fun and lust for more.
