    A well-done Speyside 12-Ender - a beautiful summer whisky, very fruity and I think it is well comparable with the Livet 12y and also at eye level!
    • Nose
      aromatic, soft, malty, fruity (apple compote, citrus), vanilla, caramel, malt;
    • Taste
      first subtle, then juicy fruity (sparkling) swelling, ripe citrus fruits, also raisins, malt, vanilla, some wood, spice;
    • Finish
      fairly short finish; malty, fruity, fading slightly dry;

    For a 12 year old standard, this single malt appears surprisingly mature. The oak appears relatively strong and makes it appear older than it actually is. Nevertheless, there are enough fruity sweet moments in the taste and above all the lovely aroma is convincing. Unfortunately, the 40% alcohol strength is a small brake and not enough for a whisky of this quality.
    • Nose
      Ripe red apples, Williams pear, hints of lime, peaches, oak lurks in the background, vanilla joins in, light honey, vibrant clean barley, sweet florality leans toward rose
    • Taste
      Ripe apples and honey characterize the beginning, juicy barley, peaches and apricots, pears again, round and balanced, vanilla, dark milk chocolate, polished shiny oak
    • Finish
      Medium length, distinct malt, latte macchiato, dark chocolate, some bitterness comes with the distinct oak, peaches, resinous mango and plum bring a fruity finish, some caramelized walnuts

    • Nose
      Light. Cereals with a distant sweetness. Reed.
    • Taste
      Not determined. Grass, some malt and honey. Short.

    Solid whisky, for 50 € / l OK.
    • Nose
      soft and sweet, toffee, vanilla, nut, a little floral-fresh, a very light dry-woody spiciness (so between cinnamon and old pencil)
    • Taste
      sweet and creamy (toffee, honey) with a little pepper, in between a splash of lemon ... longer in the mouth: spicy oak, dark chocolate
    • Finish
      medium, dry, some pepper

    Singleton is a brand dismissed in aficionado circles, and referred to as "the Simpleton". But what if it was designed to be just that?

    Singleton of Dufftown 12 does the gateway job pretty decently!
