Wow, what a nose and palate - one of the few Laphroaigs that I like - fantastic!
Just the age and the current price doesn't match...
    • Nose
      92 92
Intense, fresh, seabreeze, iodine, smoked fish, citrusy, lemons, also dark fruits, berries or dried fruits, new wood, spices, nutmeg, meaty, ham and bacon, sausages - very good!
    • Taste
      93 93
Very punchy, oily, liquorice, soy sauce, good sweetness, Worcester sauce too, more dried fruits, plums, dates, sherry wood, pork belly - great!
    • Finish
      92 92
      Long, warm, spicy, more punchy

Very nice typical young sherried laphroaig though I would never have guessed it was just 7yo

Miracles sometimes happens in just 7 years.

  4. peatbogger scored this whisky 92 points Specialist

Very well ballanced, and different in a positive manner.
    • Nose
No doubt it's a Laffy, but it's light and gentle.

      Peat is light and sweet.

Not so medicinal, more fruity and bright.

Juicy Clementines, hint of vanilla and honey with an almost bourbon sweetness.

Some darker notes, raisins and also liqorice, but not a pronounced PX finish.
    • Taste
Peat is more prominent, very clean.

      Moderatly spicy, some prune compote.

Turning dry and lightly astringent with spices growing as it goes down.
    • Finish
      Medium++

      Spicy warm, powerfull.

      Drying oak and burnt wood.

  5. Sonett scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

I would not have guessed a 7 YO if I did not know. It feels a lot more mature than that
    • Nose
Immidealty the typical Laphroaig nose with charcoal smoke, then also in the background some sherry tones like Raisins, Dates and Figs
    • Taste
Enters Soft fruity and sweet, then turning into peppery spices
    • Finish
Medium long to long. When the spices fades away a slightly dry bitterness appears with a light woody finale
