Wine treated, sounds exciting, tastes exciting, unfortunately forbidden and St. Magdalene will not be that often anymore. Exciting, complex.
    • Nose
Cappuccino first, let him stand for an hour in the glass under the lid. Now comes a slightly sour wine note. Let's swing something for him. The wine is stronger and the alcohol is noticeable. Otherwise, I find it very easy in the nose, wood or barrel notes hardly find.
    • Taste
First some alcoholic, then I have a little sweet white wine on the tongue. Then whine oak and a bitterness. In the last corner hides some honey and then swallowing I find again a note that goes in the direction of coffee and chocolate.
    • Finish
Not overly long, but the mouth is pretty well occupied.

What starts out fantastic for me in the nose becomes exhausting in the finish. You have give it time. A lotof time. Then it gives a lot back. I glad that the wine cask only plays a minor role. Full review (german): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2021/01/19/sieben-super-st-magdalene/

On the nose, caressing. At the crossroads of Speyside and Lowlands with this vegetal note. Hot bread. In the mouth, very beautiful: powerful but not violent. Sweet but not sweet.

    Enthusiasm 4/5

    the finish is great
The alcohol in the mouth and nose makes a lot of damage, too bad ...

    an always welcomed dram
    • Nose
      vanilla cream
      Herbs
      burl
      ripe bananas
dusty dry summer soil on which honey or pineapple juice is dripped
      ginger
such a calm bright nose ... that takes time
      Notes of smooth woodruff jelly
Tangerines crushed on the hot pavement and dried out
    • Taste
      Start slightly alcoholic
then a lot of dry chocolate
      sweet cereal
      malty, & sweet
      banana
      chocolate
      something like light peat smoke
      jelly banana
    • Finish
      chocolate
      Oak
      Sweetness in the dust
      malty
      yellow plum
towards the end the green of the lime peel

  10. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

yummy - interesting, idiosyncratic whisky for experimenters, no mainstream, tolerates or needs water
    • Nose
fresh fruits - apple, lemon, pineapple, dry white wine, light caramel and honey sweetness, freshly cut grass and ginger
    • Taste
fruity - pineapple, apricot, jelly banana, wine gums, in addition to light caramel and honey sweetness and a dry, dusty woodiness (brand stone wooden pencil).
    • Finish
long, citrus-bitter, a hint of licorice
