Very nice whisky. Exciting, as he starts restrained in the nose and on the tongue first, and then after a while, one flavor after the other rauszuhauen.
At first restrained. But then with vehemence: cool smoke with a greasy note in the background. Some menthol. Red berry fruits. The smoke increases in intensity; Sea associations crowd in: salt, seaweed, algae. Now also phenol. Grease gets in. Always accompanied by the red berries, which turn out to be strawberries and currants. Fresh cut flowers. Cloves. Anise. Some caraway. It's interesting how many flavors peel out.
Very mild onset, but clearly phenolic smoke. Spicy and pleasantly fruity. Beautifully balanced, even at the beginning. Fresh tarred road, the steaming tea kettle is still at the side. Just a stone's throw away the sea. Flooded wood, algae, seaweed, salt. As in the nose, it starts properly on the tongue after a while. Grainy note, malt, honey. A splash of lemon. Toffeebonbons. And always this delicious phenolic peaty smoke.
Medium long and slightly dry. The smoke has not given way. Still a little orange flavor, otherwise dominate peat smoke, oak and mild herbs.
