Solid dram. Clearly matured in port cask(s). Soft with vanilla and soft red fruits like raspberries and strawberries. I also get a soapy taste at the beginning, slightly off putting. That being said; this is a beautiful Glenfarclas, well balanced and packing a punch. With a drop of water green apple and liquorish dramtically enter the scene.

First port matured GF I've ever tasted. Too bad this is only a sample. Thank you Sinterkees!

    • Nose
Ripe orange, tropical fruits, honey, GF typical fudge, yellow raisins and nectarines.
    • Taste
Tobacco, nutty (like oloroso sherry) and forest fruits - raspberries.
    • Finish
Medium drying with forest fruits and lychees.

The excellent sweet, wine-raisin 'mole is a perfect combination of the base and the port, harmoniously balanced, it probably does not strike with a variety of components, but, what is, suffices with interest, very dense and rich, deep. An interesting specimen, this type of barrel is not often found in this distillery.
    • Nose
Open, raw, grapes, wine notes, sweet confectionery, raisins, lemon zest, mandarins, noble wood, furniture varnish, stain, peaches and apricots.
    • Taste
Liqueur-nut, wine, raisins, spicy oak, light peppery wave, tangerines, orange, lemon peel.
    • Finish
Sweet, spicy, mulled wine - cinnamon, cloves, tender and soft oak.

N: Youthful nose and in-between Port and aged sherry.
T: Still very youthful at first building before the fruity watery mouthful softens.
F: Extremely creamy and fruity vanillas
    C: Good, that is all.

    Scores a B

This bottling aged for 31 years in a Port Cask. Seldom kind of maturation for a Glenfarclas. There is no information how many bottles in total.
