A really interesting and unusual Bruichladdich. Sweet and rather dark fruit flavors dominate the nose with the creamy honey, while a fresh peppermint note creates a nice contrast to the sweet and fruity aromas. A creamy and oily woody note lies all the time in the fruity berries and intense fruits. Despite the fruity and sweet impressions, a maritime touch does not make you forget the origin of this malts and it is exactly this interplay and the multitude of aromas that make me remember this great bottling for a long time. Like with good!
    • Nose
Dark and intense amber, the Bruichladdich shines in the glass. On the glass wall of the Premium Snifter, many long drops drip back into the glass and exude an interesting aroma from afar. Dark and creamy forest honey mixes with green apple and a hint of dark orange at the beginning. Fruity sweetness rises, pear and honey melon melt together, a touch of velvety peach and dried berries or grapes give the nose a slightly exotic note. Bananas and a minimal hint of sulfur rise from the lush and sweet fruit note, discreet freshness in the form of old peppermint comes off and is covered to the end by sticky wood and dried vanilla pod. The sweetness retreats a bit and gives priority to the fine mint note, a pinch of salt and a scent of beach and sea make the fruity elements forget for a moment.
    • Taste
Slightly salty and yet very fruity, the Bruichladdich flows over the tongue at the first sip. Spicy wood tones and fresh walnuts follow the slightly maritime aroma, again showing dark and creamy forest honey. Slowly a fiery sharpness develops on the tongue while a pinch of black pepper mixes with the wooden sharpness. Lightly grassy and floral aromas follow the decaying sharpness, spicy and creamy oak leaves the taste surprisingly mild and harmonious. Sweet oranges and peaches mingle with yellow fruits and dried berries, dark caramel and a hint of cinnamon and sugar revive the sweetness and now characterize the mild and creamy taste. Here and there are spicy and creamy wood tones in combination with hazelnuts and walnuts.
    • Finish
Creamy and subtly tart, the taste goes on in the aftermath. A fine spicy note rises from the dry, yet creamy wood elements, sweet and fruity notes give the aftertaste a varied character, the initially subtle freshness is intensified and old peppermint mixes with creamy wood. The voluminous sweetness plays alternately with the creamy wood tones and the old peppermint note, slowly dissolving more and more a heavy and dark sulfur note, mixes with the creamy and spicy wood elements and then disappears again in the next moment. Powerful and long stick the tasty and interesting flavors on the palate.

Fantastic drop, typical Bruichladdich and yet very different. Complex, tasty, elegant. A classic.

Fine and matured Laddie with optimal wine tickets. The 46% ABV is not weak at the taste, but on the finish maybe it is...
    • Nose
Flowers, green fruits, especially apple, mint and honey. Spicy oak and mild wine notes.
    • Taste
Sweet fruity wine at first, than matured oak, pepper and touch of wood smoke. Nice.
    • Finish
      Medium length, sweet, oaky, spicy.

Tasty but rather easy in my opinion.
    • Nose
Grassy sweet beginning, orange peel, light grapes, some ginger sharpness will eventually
    • Taste
Creamy sweet onset, also here a bit grassy to spicy, the orange peel I find as well, oak flavor with subtle bitterness
    • Finish
Slightly dry, but also sweet finish, light heat, light oak bite, medium length finish
