[December, 2004]  Together with friends I emptied bottle no. 041 that I bought for 150 Euro in November, 2004.

    In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 92,5.  Pls. see note below.

[December, 2005]  I had this dram during an "30+ years" special tasting at Bonn.

In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 95.  My notes state a very fruity and sweet profile with a delicious fruit gums spike ("Maoam").  Some drops of water make it even more balanced but be cautions not to add too much of it as some unpleasant aromas pop up...

By the way, this fruit gum flavour is an either-you-love-it-or-you-hate-it affair.  I love it...

  4. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Nose: rum raisins, oak, sweet sherry, dried fruit. Very sweet, little musty, ripe, the oak is clear, but not overwhelming. Great.
Mouth: strong, menthol, oak, only slightly musty. But very intense, like fruit bread.
Departure: menthol, oak, tannins, but also some pepper and spices. Very long.

Conclusion: a really great old Sherrymalt. Lots of oak, but no wall unit rustic. A great whisky, where you can certainly discover even more.
