Whisky Reviews for Invergordon 1966 DR
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 89.18 points
- Very rich and deep old grain, excellent example of a really good grain whisky - this is lovely stuff. Thanks to my friend from the Cutty forum for sharing a sample. If anyone has a bottle lingering around pls get in touch with me :)
- Bottlers Note:
Colour: MahoganyNose: Rich tropical fruit, intense, rum and bananas.
Palate: Gorgeous explosion of vanilla bourbon flavours, seemingly infinite finish.
- Pricing: Starting from an initial price of 215 euros
- Many compare Single Grain with Single Malt and award lower scores due to their lower complexity - a pity
Cotton candy, roasted almonds, white chocolate, some smoke. Very fruity with banana, apple and peach. The wood fits well and supports with spice. There are memories of Caribbean rum.
Starts creamy and mild. After a few seconds, tingling licorice and beautiful caramel notes are added. The fruitiness is here in 2nd place. The wood is in spite of the great age to advantage.
Long and sweet with some smoke, nice wood and a surprisingly light saltiness.
