Whisky Reviews for Mannochmore 2001 SMWS 64.31

- gold color, nose very marked by the barrel, a lot of vanilla, spices, close to a bourbon or a grain, a little coconut honey and yellow fruits in the background. Mouth quite sweet for 61%, thick, slightly sweet, very vanilla and spicy. Good length, spices, coconut, vanilla. Not bad if you like this style but for me the barrel was too active.
- A good whisky, well balanced, where the 61.9% are perfectly integrated. And indeed, this is not his age.
A lot of wood, even very fragrant exotic wood, spices, grapes macerated with white rum. Together slightly sweet, good power. Some disturbing touches of varnish.
It's rather fat, thick, alcohol is well integrated. Few perfumes but it is well done: spices, wood, vanilla cream, a few herbs.
Good magnitude, on wood and spices.
