Nose: White grape juice gives way to a floral Highland duet of heather and gorse. Underneath runs warming toffee and a touch of peat.Palate: Wafts of smoke flow over the palate becoming ashy with time. However, the body is comprised of green grapes, green apples and refreshing menthol.Finish: The peat becomes more charcoal-like with that cleansing menthol from the palate clinging on, finally apple peel holds the fort for the lingering remainder of the finish.Overall: Batch 1 was stunning but Batch 2 comes through with something that bit more complex and entertaining. Why is this distillery closed?!
