Whisky Reviews for Springbank 2000 Calvados
43 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.63 points
- I like it, but it is also quite dry from the wood. Maybe also day form. But this one is a nice whisky with the Sringbank typical light peat notes. I had too little calvados to consciously taste the calvados, but an apple fruit note is not to deny the whisky.
great fruity Springbank nose. Intense, apples, some peat. Very fresh and delicious
Here comes the Springbank out. Peat, orange peel, salt, but also some aromas, probably from the Calvados barrel
Spicy oak, peat, some salt and fruit (a little apple, a little orange peel) and a tart finish.
- definitely not my favorite spring bank
Oily almost a little petrol but also light smoky notes. Slightly salty with light citrus fruits over time
On the tongue first tingling then a little peppery. Shortly a nice sweetness comes out almost like caramel
Short and sweet. at first a little salty then changes to peppery and very slight bitterness
- At a tasting
- The nose has some petroleum fumes and sweetness, but is otherwise very much like a naked SB. With water I get a soggy teabag with green tea in it, and unripe white fruit. The taste is rounded and inoffensive, but forgettable. Fruity, with faint liquorice and ciderlike sweetness. The finish is fast and quiet. There are some aromas that are not that usual in whisky, but the calvados doesn't push through very strongly.
