Whisky Reviews for Longmorn 1973 GM

Heavy and a bit dirty at first. Then mint leaves, huge on orange zest. Chocolate. Marzipane, Pear lemonade, cut logs. Cloves. Ginger. Lime.
Thick, yet mouthwatering. So juicy. Zesty, christmas spices, ginger, tonic water. Cacao
Medium long. Citrus. Hazelnuts. Some oaky influence. More dried fruits.
- Boah, blatant, nose a dream (93-94P), then comes a bitter bomb as I've rarely ever had (85P), the departure is so in between (89P).
Nice fleshy, great nose, figs, dates, cherries, you could bite, cinnamon, oiled leather, ham with dark honey, brown sugar, plums, dark tobacco, blood orange, rumrosins, saffron, cumin, sweet milk chocolate
Wäääh, what's going on here, tons of dark chocolate, but really 90%, was much more than ever in the nose of bitter substances, charred oak with lots of tannins, already black roasted steak, later at least something black cherry with seeds, overbrewed coffee, anise, Rye, dark tobacco
Still many tannins, some black pepper, old leather, dark chocolate and some cherry and raisins, long, please, but with a bit more fruit than in the mouth
- Tasting notes by Gordon & MacPhail:
AROMA without water: Defined Sherry notes, soft and aromatic, with hints of cinnamon and stewed apples - reminiscent of fresh apple pie.
TASTE without water: Hints of charred oak, with a burst of mixed spices, smooth with a stewed fruit edge.
AROMA with water: Sweet Sherry, more fruity notes, hints of almonds and marzipan. Clean and fresh with a hint of tobacco.
TASTE with water: Some oak influences, with a delicate touch of bonfire embers, Sherry sweetness and hints of cracked pepper.
