Whisky Reviews for Laphroaig 10-year-old DL

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.20 points

Initially the nose is simple Islay peat, but a bit of time in the glass and a drop of water released some rich, honeyed cream that I really enjoyed. Lacking the iodine/TCP element I normally associate with this distillery, but otherwise it is like an enhanced, richer version of the OB 10yo. On the palate it is even closer to the OB 10yo, albeit with the higher strength allowing more intensity of flavour. Long, lingering and smoky finish. Nothing earth shattering, but a very enjoyable peaty Islay dram.

    • Nose
Not your typical Laphroaig. More on peat but not medicinal as I would expect from this distillery. Some sweetness, vanilla.
    • Taste
Good body. Nice peat punch and gentle sweetness. Burned rubber.
      It is not overly complex
    • Finish
Medium on peat and some pepper
