- Sweet fruity dram accompanied by ashes.
I found quinces in the nose, apricot and banana in the body ending up with a very sweet finish not too long
delicate fruit, vinous, little vanilla, light
light spice, sweet and delicate, some fruit, mild and tasty
sweet and delicate fruit with a hint of bitterness, short to medium long
- There is nothing in the foreground really. Sometimes the directions are alternating, but always mild and soft.
So a lot is stated with 'some' or 'little' because nothing is dominant - it could have a little more intensity (maybe it is also due to the low-end alcohol strength of 40%); but even more surprising is the pretty rich extent of the (not very long) finish.
A light Speyside dram with something more - this is the nice port wine cask-influence.
sweet caramel into toffee, coffee glaze (also hints of fresh brewed coffee from time to time), mild and soft at the beginning, raisins, some orange, little spice from the port wood, cherry top-note merging with vanilla, some old leather, memory of rum, sour apple, pleasant wood with cocoa and slight tartness, a hint of dextrose, it is getting rounder and fuller as time passes by, some noble milk chocolate, port cask, more sour citrus, custard, also some nut towards brittle
sweet and soft, then spicy vanilla and noble bitter chocolate; a wood trail leading to port wine impressions later, vanilla flourishes, some cherry, some citrus (orange), grain, light spices, tobacco
vanilla at the beginning, toffee, cocoa, more wood, slightly tart with port wine feeling, some orange peel, carrot, rum raisin, hints of cantaloupe, fresh and sour plums, thoughts of rice; there is some surprising development and short-term intensity in the finish
- A nice and light dram which offers some darker quality beyond.
Recommendation for everyone interested in a tender and well-balanced whisky with a discreet port wine influence.
