Not easy to drink, which is true for many Macduffs. The aromas are quite unusual for whisky, but interesting and the overall impression is pleasant.
Warming and sweet with the smell of cardboard and dried fruits (apples, apricots) at first nosing. The alcohol is not very well integrated. Grainy notes as well as tobacco, biltong and oxtail soup. Strange aromas for a whisky but interesting and unusual for sure.
Bold, sweet and oily with lots of sherry and a little bit of sulphur at first mouthfeel. Notes of tobacco, pepper and grainy aromas with biltong and oxtail soup. Hints of oranges as well.
Long and satisfying, turning from sweet sherry aromas into an aftertaste of dry old wood. The finish is very good despite of the old wood!
