Holy... Wow..!! I've never smelled a whisky this good before. An extremely pronounced smell of plums/peach/apricot. Definitely the most fruity nose I've come across.

The taste matches the nose. Very, very nice flavour, but unfortunately way too thin. Almost like water, compared to the nose. I sense a fruity flavour that reminds me a bit of sherry, but it isn't..
    • Finish
      80 80
Fairly neutral. Like licking dry wood or eating underripe, bright fruits.

  3. dRambo scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

reminds me of Lomond 17 - just not so fruity, not so clean, not so excellent - no rubber - quite a modern profile
    • Nose
      85 85
lots of wood, furniture polish, some glue, behind it a clear citrus note sweetly sour and fruity, with more time fresh tree sap, licorice - really a lot of strength for 40%
    • Taste
      83 83
Takes off rather weakly, you have to chew it for a while before it builds up, then the aromas from the nose are back, dusty wood and fruity lemon, some wax,
    • Finish
      82 82
bit bitter, mineral, herbal, malt candy, ricola - quite confused

[June, 2003]  I had this dram during a FoSM club tasting.  In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50
    - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 75. Please see detailed tasting note below.

It has a light to medium texture.  The mouthfeel is hot, peppery and thin.  Water does not change a lot.
    • Nose
biting hot, furniture polish, adhesive glue, artifical perfumy, pears, hints of malt and medium sherry, nougat, very late creamy
    • Taste
bitter, not identifyable fruits, gentle, caramel
    • Finish
      short to medium, bitter

  6. Allandale scored this whisky 76 points Connoisseur

The body is medium and smooth.
    • Nose
Nutty. Hint of barley sugar. Soft pear in a fudge sauce. Mmm
    • Taste
Sweet and soft. Caramelized walnuts. Braised artichokes.
    • Finish
      Rounded, not long.

    Colour: amber

Nose: LIGHT, a bit of fruitiness. and grass some notes of caramel not much more

Taste: as nose...but really simple, (in all honesty; smooth) maybe a bit if citrus...but that scent barely survives

Finish: there is none worth mentioning

    Bottle; Dull

Wouldn't recommend (even to beginners) - life is too short.... If you find yourself landed with this one try the following: Take 1 bottle of Green's Lemongrass and Ginger Cordial, a long glass filled with ice, a sprig or two of fresh basil and a slice + twist of fresh lime. Make up the cordial in the glass to taste with sparkling spring water, add the Tormore to taste and stir well.

Alternatively use in a peppercorn sauce on a venison steak, but add a touch of Laphroaig or similar to give the sauce some extra flavour!
