Whisky Reviews for Burnside 1994 Sc
6 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.27 points
- Conclusion: a difficult, strange whiskey. He is extremely alcoholic, which does not change by significant addition of water. He is almost completely closed and remains so even after a long wait. One hardly manages to name any flavor details. Nevertheless, one does not find this whiskey noticeably unpleasant. So you can actually say, nice drinking whiskey, although he, as regards the alcohol, makes neat steam.
Nose: stinging alcohol, leather, tobacco, fermented fruit
Taste: alcoholic hot, sweet, spicy fir honey
Resonance: medium length, very alcoholic, sweet finish
- Official Tasting Notes:
Nose: very fruity, a bit of malt, raisins and figs slightly, overall very strongly marked by sherry.
Palate: honey, fruit notes of raisins, sherry sweetness clear.
Comments: Burnside is a blend of 99% Balvenie and 1% Glenfiddich.
- Balvenie "spooned" with a teaspoon of Glenfiddich.
- This stuff is great fun and well worth drinking.
Dark fruit, coffee, leather, mashed raisins, prune juice and cocoa. Water gives stewed apples, rhubarb, gooseberry and orange oil.
Choco-coffee, cinnamon sugar and heaps of spice. Water causes the spices to explode. Great.
Mighty spices. Water softens it and allows cinnamon and sugar notes to take over.
