Scapa 2001 -2012, 43% alc. Bottler: Gordon & MacPhail Extension: Bourbon barrels Region: Orkney, Scotland
Nose: Very fruity, almost exotic in the first impression. Honey and watermelon, apples, light berries, peach and vanilla. In addition, slightly spicy oak flavors.
Palate: vanilla and slightly fruity sweetness that goes well with the nose. Creamy with tropical fruits, lighter spices and fine malt tones.
Finish: Long and again a creamy impression. Slip away slowly. It remains a sweetish / spicy character with a cinnamon note.
Conclusion: Delightful to enjoy - without becoming boring. The palate is likely to be a touch more complex.
86/100 points (tasted 2015 about 50 €) Thanks to Thomas Haug for sample and photo!

The Scapa is very bright, almost pale. The aroma is composed of fruity aromas, such as plum and melon. There are also tropical fruits in the game. A hint of mint completes the aroma. The taste is determined by the fruitiness. Again there are plums and tropical fruits, but also citrus flavors. The taste is rounded off by light toffee notes. The aftertaste is soft and mild and brings back the fruitiness. A delicious, slightly bitter taste remains on the tongue.
An interesting combination: the almost lively mouth and the bitter note at the end make you want more.

  3. Malt Hans scored this whisky 82 points Connoisseur

Malty and spicy aroma, juniper berries,
cinnamon, malt and hay. Marzipan sweet taste, sweet mustard, mint,
mango, vanilla and malt. Medium long, malty and spicy end.
