      8.5 // 7

Dry peat is refined and slightly oily. Not overpowering, but rather distinguished. Sucks you in. // Somehow even drier and sharper.
    • Taste
      80 80
      8 // 8

Meaty and chewy. The body is thin, but the flavor is potent. Legs for days. // Thinner, but longer and more nuanced. Less smoked meat than the inside of a smokehouse while you eat something else entirely, perhaps a roast chicken.
    • Finish
      70 70
      6.5 // 7

Tasty, but brief. // There we go.

    Nice one from Bunna!
    • Nose
      Dry peat. Spice.
    • Taste
Peat. Spice. Strangely dry and floral at the same time. Fruit and dry wood at the same glass. This is really intresting..
    • Finish
Longer than expected. Same contrasts live long. Is it dry and woody or fruity and floral. Or all of them. Go figure.

I tried Toiteach on a number of occasions and in a number of different ways. I came to the conclusion that despite the normally ideal ABV of 46% that this dram really benefitted from the water addition. Likewise, I found that it equally improved its poise with a bit of time in the glass - say 10 to 15 minutes.

I liked this one, nice expression from Bunnahabhain,  its not what you would expect,  very fruity, a bit less smoky than expected, but decently peated,  its very pleasant to drink .

Imagine peated pears, if you are still up to buy this now do it. Its a strange whisky. Bunnahabhain floral and Islay peat. I like it
    • Nose
Sweet yeast dough, grapes, smoke, old water, peat ( surprise surprise), sweet, salty, seawater,  seabreeze, elderflower, wood, floral, light, oak, paprika-crisps, sourcream, potatoes
    • Taste
Smoke, Peat, red pepper, thyme, dried flowers on your way to the beach, floral, hint of sherry?, peated pears( peat pears?) strange but somehow fascinating, dry leaves, tobacco, seaweed, mussels, desinfection, limestone, crisp, fresh, maritim, clay, salty, sandy
    • Finish
Peaty, not smoky, stinging nettle, cardboard, fresh, bourbon, subtle hint of oak, sweet and peaty at the same time. Like well peated pears.
