Good (Bourbon) cask selection by Erik Molenaar. Tnx Dennis for the sample.
    • Nose
Unexpectedly fresh and fruity. I got pineapple, melon and lychees. Also toffee and honey. It's very sweet. Later on some soap.
    • Taste
Oily and warm mouthfeel. Polished oak in combination with lots of vanilla. Citrus fruit of lemon and lime. A little peppery. Cinnamon.
    • Finish
Quite long. Gingery and liquorice. Bitterness at the end.

Beautiful nose: sugar glazed yellow (tropical-ish) fruit with some gentile polished oak and a floral touch. 88

Pallet: turns heavy on oak and becomes floral with medium spices, the sweetness is gone. 86
Finish: in the first sips the nose comes back, afterwords it's more like the pallet: floral style with dense polished oak and in the tail the spices make their way trough. To much wood spices for me.  80

This whisky starts very very promising on the nose but it isn't straight with the pallet and finish. 84

Nose: Tropical fruit with honey: think kiwi, guava, candied papaya, spices, cardamom, cinnamon, pepper . A real woody perfume. lovely stuff on the nose here.

Palate: Big mouth feel : starts spicy, then continues on some leather, not much fruit as the nose suggested, but more robust with a certain fruity element , and an oily feeling, maybe a pinch of salt too.

Finish : Bitter chocolate, cherries, wee smoke.

A great single casks this is, with an equisite nose, and palate, and a good finish to it as well. Was not expecting it to be that good. One of the best Kintras I’ve had recently.

    nose: full, fruit, sweet spices
palate: remarkably sweet (for a non-sherried whisky), fruity, dark chocolate, oily; fills the mouth
finish: long, with a peppery sweetness.
While the aroma`s and flavors develop over time, there is always a balance in the glass. Great dram!
