Whisky Reviews for Bowmore 1998 KiW
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.27 points
- Nose: Soap, wee peat smoke, wood and liquorice candy , fennel.
Palate: Much more smoke than you would expect only from the nose, chilly, spices, bitter sweet wood, peat, with a sweet and spicy middle, then developing into ash, salt.getting very earthy and bitter.
Finish : Bitter wood, earth, spice, salt and smoke.
It’s like a bitter ashtray finish. a bit weird for a Bowmore, more like a very dry Ardbeg sort of finish. Not my favourite Islay or Kintra so far.
- blind tasting
smoke, spices - pepper and cinnamon, peat, tar, nuts and meaty
ashes, citrus, smoke and spicy
earthy, liquorice, smoke and ashes
- Quite an exceptional Bowmore, they don't come this malty normally.
Porridge, malt, lime, gingerbread, vanilla, straw and peat.
Much heavier peat than in the nose. Futhermore lime, malt, vanilla and gingerbread.
Peat, lime, malt and grain cooky.
